  • Singer Dog Murras Release New CD

    Dog MurrasDog Murras, will release on Sunday his sixth album entitled "Angolanidade" at Luanda's Independence Park, four years after he delivered the last.

    The project consists of a DVD with 10 new video clips and seven old ones, as well as a 12-track CD.

    The album was produced in Angola by B MAX Produções firm. Speaking at a press conference, the singer said the CD counted on the special participation of Angolan youths and is sung in the music styles Kazukuta, Kuduro, Semba, Kizomba and Funk-Kuduro. Dog Murras was born in Luanda on February 17, 1977. He has been singing for about 15 years.

  • Titica on "O Sabor" restaurant stage

    Luanda- The restaurant “O Sabor” in Luanda will be receiving on Saturday the singer Titica as its main attraction for a concert that will also bring in Yola Semedo, Filomena Maricoa, Telma Lee and Puto Português as guests.

    The information was released to Angop by a source from the event promoting company Magic Fingers Event who said the place is there to promote the Angolan music.

    Titica started her career as a Kuduro style dancer at the age of 16, before she started singing and releasing her debut album entitled “Chão”, in October 2011.

  • Angola’s Leila Lopes crowned Miss Universe, beating out 88 competitors.

    Sao Paulo — Newly crowned Miss Universe Leila Lopes hopes her victory will allow her to assist her native Angola further escape its history of war and impoverishment and said she plans to focus on combatting HIV around the globe.

    Speaking in a timid voice early Tuesday shortly after taking the crown in South America’s largest city, the 25-year-old Ms. Lopes said that “as Miss Angola I’ve already done a lot to help my people.”

    “I’ve worked with various social causes. I work with poor kids, I work in the fight against HIV. I work to protect the elderly and I have to do everything that my country needs,” she said. “I think now as Miss Universe I will be able to do much more.”
